Nic Yoder

Name: nic Yoder

Induction Year: 2022

CategoryCareer Achievement in Embracing the Spirit

Bio: Nic has been a model of consistency and a fixture at the KFM Cancer Classic. Amazingly, Nic Yoder has never missed a KFM Cancer Classic and remains the only player to have played in the tournament all of its 21 years. By year 10, the Classic had narrowed down its perfect attendance list to six but soon after, Nic remained atop the list and began running up the score. This means he has played at all 5 venues across 4 cities in 3 states in 21 years. His excellence in attendance has far outpaced his success on the greens as he has only sniffed a score related award once, when he was beat in a playoff in 2018 for the Purple Rider Award by Ryan Komlertkul (KFM HOF ’17). His ‘one shining moment’ may have been his winning Best Dressed in 2006 with his ‘Golden Bear’ inspired wear.

The KFM Cancer Classic has been a family affair for Nic. His wife Allie has been a longtime participant, daughter Maeve has played, and their son Liam won the Chicago Cub Award after shooting an icy +40 in his rookie appearance in 2021. Nic’s parents have not only been donors but also helped keep Nic’s attendance streak alive by watching his kids on many KFM weekends over the years. His Uncle Don & Aunt Carol have been generous supporters for many years and cousin Kyle came close to winning the Classic in one of his few appearances.

Personal:Nic was born and raised in Arcola, IL. He is a 1996 graduate of Arcola High School and 2001 graduate of Illinois State University. He is currently an Assistant Property Manager at JLL in Chicago. He and wife Allie married in 2008 and have 2 children, Maeve & Liam. Allie has been a longtime KFM participant, supporter, and winner of several amateur burping contests. They reside in Mt. Prospect, IL.

Nic Yoder's Thoughts on His Hall of Fame Induction:

“Kevin Monahan and KFM Cancer Classic, Thank you. For many years you have provided me with a can’t miss event! Every June, I get to come together with old friends from A-town, and meet new KFM participants. KFM has been a Nic Yoder staple - from Ohio, Georgia, to Chicago to Champaign - the money raised, lives honored and fun had is like none other. I am privileged to be inducted into the KFM hall of fame. It only took 21 years - but I made it! I am grateful to join with my fellow Hall of Famers and proud to lead by example for my children, Maeve and Liam in setting the example to continue to help fight for such a great cause. Thanks for all your efforts friend, and thanks for inviting me to join your Hall of Fame.”
